Is there any risk involved in putting money in money market account? I know money market account is not isured by FDIC. I will have about 300K to invest but since the stock market is really volatile right now, I like to start investing slowly. I am planning to put some money in money market account at Vanguard. Their money market account have a slightly higher return. I also want to buy some mutual funds that Vanguard offers in the future. But I am just a little concerned about putting all the money in just one account. Any thought? What kind of risk shoud I think about? Should I go with CD or Bond?
What is better, a money market fund or a fixed interest fund? I am in a 403(b) plan. I opened a money markey IRA, and was going to converit it to a Roth IRA (im 23) and have rolled my $3,500 from my 401K into my new IRA. What is a typical interest rate on a money market account or a CD in a Norwegian Bank? I am considering moving my liquid assets to a Norwegian bank to hedge against the weak dollar. What is one of the best money market checking/savings accounts with the highest interest yield? I currently bank of Bank of America. I am disappointed in their low interest rates and am thinking of switching to a brokerage or mutual fund firm that handles checking and savings accounts as well as retirement funds. Is my IRA too conservatively invested in the federal money market fund? My Vanguard IRA. I told them to move the money to where it was invested as conservatively as possible, and they suggested federal money market fund. My wife says that's like stuffing it in a mattress, but I dunno. Is there any advantages to a CD over a money market account if they earn the same percentage? For example sake, if I have a 1 year CD, with 10,000 dollars in it, and the rate is 3 percent. And I have a money market account that I have 10,000 dollars sitting in that draws 3 percent interest, is there any advantage to the CD? Why would I want to lock my money up in a CD, when I can just have it sit in an account I can access at any time thats the same percentage? Thanks!

Should I pull my money out of the the stock market? I currently have $12k invested in vanguard's total stock market index and vanguard's total int'l stock market index (6k in each).
